Steve, a government worker (35), single & lost continues to lead his life as if all is going according to plan. On a fateful day a seemingly insignificant death propels him to the inner confines of his subconscious, experiencing an unlikely, fantastical & absurd journey outside of all control. Through his newfound connection to his inner, Steve finally takes his first, own, step into the unknown.
BABY BROWN is a quirky, high paced &
absurd short
film based around the
universal feelings of stagnation. Meant to
serve as roadmap for change, set within the
boundaries of the small town setting. Think
of it as if ‘The Lobster’ & ‘Walter Mitty’ had
a love child.
The story sets out to use characterisation to
allow you to be immersed in a refreshing
comedy that will hopefully leave you with
your own questions at the end.
The script came to be in early 2016 during
Christmas holiday spent back in my home
town of Lund, Sweden. At the time I’d fairly
recently moved overseas, and found myself
bumping into the concept of age vs lived
experience.
Friends that had been equal peers a
couple of years before all of a sudden felt
as if living on a different plane, to that
there’s a sadness & a joy.
Processing the question of what appears to
hold us back; which seems to
first and
foremost be ourselves.
BABY BROWN was born, I hope you’ll like
the script.
